We work closely with our various local presales engineering teams to help understand and meet specific customer requirements, provide expert technical guidance, drive technical thought leadership and mindshare, and provide relevant technical enablement to our presales teams in the field on Dell’s ground-breaking Storage and Converged Systems product portfolios.

The VMWare VxFlex Technical Evangelist  is a challenging, high impact, and deeply technical role in an emerging technology area of the Dell Technologies business. This senior resource will be solution focused, and as such, will require a unique mix technical acumen and polished executive presence. They will be a subject matter expert on the technical and business aspects of software-defined storage and data center technologies. The VMWare/VxFlex Platform Specialist will primarily support the Converged Systems Sales (CSS) and Commercial North America Presales teams of Dell Technologies.

This position will be responsible for delivering and driving both deep technical as well as executive leadership-focused engagement with the Dell Technologies Sales and Presales teams, Partners, and Customers on VxRack FLEX and VxFlex Ready Nodes as part of either an on-premises infrastructure or in cloud-focused customer environments. Technical emphasis is on converged and hyper-converged infrastructure platform design including virtualization, compute, network, storage, management, orchestration, and applications.

VMWare VxFlex Technical Evangelist , you would be responsible for the following:

  • Be well versed in Cloud Architecture, VMWare, Azure Stack, and other kinds of major cloud-based and virtualization solutions.
  • Be able to understand other Dell Technologies solutions and Cisco Data Center products and/or competitive technology and business applications within the assigned markets.
  • Becoming the Presales Subject Matter Expert on all things related to the VxRack Flex and VxFlex products in the Commercial North America segment.
  • Be responsible for producing and delivering VxRack FLEX and VxFlex product enablement to the Presales Field, such as, developing boot camps, hosting training sessions, etc.
  • Represent the Commercial North America segment by being the technical interface between product engineering and the Dell Technologies field, Partners, and Customers.
  • Driving engagement with and providing technical and thought leadership with our Customers, Partners, and the Dell Technologies Sales and Field teams.
  • Driving revenue and customer satisfaction for the VxFlex family offerings through proactive engagement
  • Field Evangelism as a VxFlex Family Subject Matter Expert
  • Present and market the design and value of proposed solutions and business case to customers, prospects, and leadership
  • Support Executive Briefing Center engagements and other customer/field events.
  • Supporting large strategic opportunities, including architectural and application design consulting for complex deployments
  • Fostering and expanding Dell EMC’s relationships with Customer Business and Technical Decision Makers
  • Continuously nurturing and expanding sales, business, technology, and competitive readiness
  • Mentorship of future and new CSS, Presales, and MPA Team Members
  • Actively participate in internal Dell Technologies technical communities and in the broader industry through events, community gatherings and more.
  • Gather requirements and performing technical analysis to help document and design fully integrated solutions


  • 8+ years of relevant business experience in the IT industry (Sales, Sales Operations or Product Engineering sales experience strongly preferred)
  • 5+ years of formal customer-facing activities, with proven results influencing technical conversations and aligning customer needs to solutions
  • Region-based; proximity to a major airport is imperative
  • Strong understanding of the Dell Technologies sales structure, culture and ethos
  • Proven ability to operate successfully in high-stress environments and be a proven self-motivator
  • Willing to travel up to 75% of the time
