Product Development Management is a fast-paced environment where innovative thinking is prized. Our team focuses on the delivery of products or computer-based systems for external customers. We lead and deliver the entire lifecycle from product definition and planning through to production and release. We also oversee modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line. And to make the whole process run smoothly and seamlessly, we’re experts in project management, from initiation through to delivery, and liaise with other departments on technical matters.
Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of design, analysis, documentation and testing of complex mechanical piece parts and assemblies. Analyze critical areas of the design with the appropriate analysis tools.
  • Play key role in ensuring the final design meets the marketing requirements, quality and cost goals, and achieves world-class standard of reliability, manufacturability, EMI containment and serviceability.
  • Works with ODMs to conduct engineering tests to evaluate and verify the robustness and proper performance of new products. Manage assigned development activities of external suppliers.
  • Interface with suppliers, industrial design, electrical engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality and other development groups to ensure the successful development and launch of new products.
  • Utilize best in class tools to develop innovative solutions to highly complex problems.
  • Provide inputs for the mechanical development budget and schedule. Play a key role in development of the preliminary BOM, cost targets, development plan. Support other areas in their initial work on project planning documents.
  • Identify and mitigate potential schedule, budget or quality risks.
  • Escalate to project leads and project management any discrepancies well before they become critical. Offer alternatives to realign the project with original goals.
  • Responsible for subset team member coordination and mentoring.
  • Provide inputs used to develop the product profile and ensuring their accuracy and completeness.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 10 years of product development experience in IT industry.
  • Extensive experience with CAD systems (Pro-E proficiency preferred).
  • Candidates with knowledge in injection molding & tooling, sheet metal and die casting, colors/materials/finishes as well as working knowledge of mass-production manufacturing processes and material costs will have an advantage.
  • Experience in working closely with industrial designers to realize product design language is desired.
  • Possesses knowledge, skills and analytical abilities to resolve most mechanical design related issues.
  • Possesses strong communication skills (written and oral) and ability to present and influence.
  • Able to lead internal as well as external teams.
  • Able to operate in a global environment under minimal direction.
