SSD Firmware Engineer - Santa Clara, CA

The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications and diagnostics — all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

·Be a team player. Have a friendly and collaborative attitude.

·Design, Implement, Debug, Test and Optimize Flash Management algorithms for high performance enterprise grade SSD.

·Bringup early prototypes.

·Create high level design docs and detailed specs.

·Support customer qualification and adoption.

Essential Requirements

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience.
  • Highly fluent in C/C++ in an embedded environment.
  • Implementation experience in at least one firmware module in SSD domain.
  • Hands on experience with JTAG debuggers.
  • Experience with source control(svn, git, perforce, etc.).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable Requirements

·Board bringup experience involving a complex ASIC/SoC.

·Multi-core processor experience.

·FTL experience is a big plus.

·Diagnostic firmware development experience.

·Bootloader experience.

·Experience with embedded blocks like UART/I2C/DDR.

·Hands on experience with logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.

·Scripting experience (Perl, Python, bash etc.).
