The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications and diagnostics — all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement new features in the Data Domain File System
  • Deliver design and functional specifications for the features being developed
  • Develop software for products that can be deployed on physical appliances, in cloud, virtualization, scale-out environments
  • Do performance analysis and identify bottlenecks
  • Participate in all phases of software development life cycle
  • Interact with support teams and customers to troubleshoot and solve complex problems
  • Develop and review development unit test procedures; work closely with QA to develop Functional & System Integration test plans
  • Design and implement incremental features, fix bugs
  • Triage & fix customer found issues in the product

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in software development in Linux/Unix and experience with contemporary software engineering principles
  • C and or C++ programming skills on Linux/Unix
  • Knowledge of File Systems, Storage Systems, File System internals, Log structured File Systems
  • Understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms
  • Good problem solving, troubleshooting, diagnostic skills, and analytical skills
  • Python scripting experience/knowledge highly desired or similar scripting experience
  • Knowledge of Agile Methodology or experience working on an Agile engineering team
  • Ability to learn, embrace challenge and growth, adapt and collaborate with engineering teams cross functionally within all levels

Desired Experience/Knowledge:

-Machine learning, Virtualization, Containerization

-Cloud Storage Environments

-Familiarity with algorithms that work on on-disk data structures

Education and Level:,

Typically requires 5+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3+ years with a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent experience.
