When Dell launches new game-changing products into the global market, Product Operations Engineering has a vital role to play. The team coordinates all the operational activities that enable products to be introduced and sustained successfully. It’s about making sure there is consistency between production and test environments. It’s about ensuring hardware, software and networking changes are migrated into the production environment in a stable and controlled way. And it’s about creating build processes, coordinating product builds for release into production and setting up configuration specifications for releases.
Key Responsibilities

·Creates factory strategies/plans for Worldwide Operations based on product plans and roadmaps

·Utilizes metrics to improve new production/process/product quality throughout life of the program

·Ensures Operations achieves Ready to Ship Release through product development model/process

·Drives quality improvements by risk assessment/mitigation eliminating sources of defects in the design, supplier and manufacturing processes

·Communicate to executives on technical root-cause analysis, program status, deliverables and other

·Ability to understand Electrical, Mechanical, Software and Test failure modes


Essential Requirements

·Works in global highly matrix organizations to communicate in verbal, written and graphical formats

·Multi-task and program/project manage multiple projects / manufacturing related issues

·BS / MS in Engineering or Technical related field

·Minimum of 8 years in Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality and Problem Solving

·Ability to drive technical issue resolution through advanced problem solving techniques

·Program Management, must have managed from concept through final completion with reporting


Desirable Requirements

  • 6-Sigma Black Belt or equivalent required
  • Proved ability to drive action plans/strategies to reduce overall manufacturing transformation cost, cycle time and improve quality
