Product Marketing Manager – NSBU Cloud Native Networking

In this role, a Product Marketing Manager in the NSBU (Network and Security Business Unit) will be responsible for creating and continually adapting positioning and messaging in support of our NSBU portfolio of offerings including NSX, NSX Service Mesh and partner go-to-market opportunities inside and outside of VMware. You will work closely with the product marketing, solution marketing, sales, engineering, and product management teams to understand technical features, customer requirements, sales enablement needs and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the core product positioning and messaging across customers and use-cases
  • Develop and execute plans to scale go-to-market strategy
  • Develop and execute plans to scale sales and partner enablement programs
  • Design and deliver crisp sales plays to facilitate guided selling for targeted use cases
  • Deliver key storylines, differentiators, and value propositions to the field and key partners
  • Work with a cross-functional team (e.g. sales, product management, engineering, pricing) 
  • Create sales tools and collateral (presentations, battle cards, datasheet, playbooks, podcasts) as required by the field
  • Manage events, conferences, webinars and participate in them to represent VMware NSBU
  • You will identify, develop, and deliver training material for sales and partners
  • Own/influence the cloud native networking and security story

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of work experience in product marketing
  • 3+ years direct experience in a marketing role for cloud networking and security
  • Understanding of key network security products and market dynamics
  • Understanding of cloud-native ecosystem and key open source projects
  • Proven experience marketing to devops teams and introducing cloud technologies to traditional buyers
  • Comfort presenting / speaking to technical audiences including customers, press and analysts
  • Experience enabling or engaging with enterprise-class sales teams and channels
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to translate technology features into business benefits. 
  • Strong leader, self-starter, and proven teammate in a high paced and achievement-oriented environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Background and familiarity in delivering enterprise software as a service (SaaS)
  • BS or MS degree in a technical discipline
  • Start-up mentality
  • Track record of bringing version 1 product(s) to market
