Global Sales Operations Manager

Primary Responsibilities of the role:

This role will provide support to our core operational activities at the Global level, providing Sales Compensation expertise through the fiscal planning preparation, credit factoring and commission query resolution, during our entire fiscal planning process. Responsible for supporting the Sales Organization, Corporate commissions, and respective field organizations to ensure quality and time-to-market optimization.

This position will require a great attitude/team player, an ability to understand E2E Sales Compensation Policy, process, and commission plan for the sales field and meet tight deadlines, strong communication skills and an ability to connect with business partners and stakeholders from around the world. As part of the role, the expectation is to constantly look to identify areas of improvement within our business, as well as drive the implementation of the findings.

It will require a strong proactive and organization skill partnering with finance, commissions and sales operations leadership to identify opportunities to simplify sales compensation through optimization and automation. Facilitate successful implementation and adoption of new processes within the Field Operations organization. Foster an organization of continuous process improvement.

Required Skills/Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Sales Operations or Business Operations
  • Experience working with Sales / Sales Operations to understand and resolve compensation plan related inquiries, issues, etc.
  • Ability to clearly and consistently communicate Sales Compensation Policies and Processes to Sales / Sales Operations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent English speaker and writer, able to effectively communicate / correspond in English
  • Excellent presentation skills to high level audiences
  • Strong/Excellent Analytical skills, Information management skill
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Attention to detail and Time management skill
  • Excellent Customer Service skill
  • Project management experience
  • Experience working cross-culturally, internationally, across multiple time-zones
  • Ability to interview and collaborate with VMware internal organizations, Finance, Data Management, Senior Management, etc. to gather input on cases/scenarios to resolve commissions issues
  • Experience in reconciliation/approval of Commissions calculations/payments processes
  • Degree/Diploma in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related field

  • Experience using planning & commissions applications
  • Sales Force.Com experience
  • Support to bi-annual planning activities
  • Coordination of Compensation Design Credit Factoring system set-up
  • Support allocation/collation of Field Sales Targets and Quotas
  • Support allocation/collation of Field Sales Territory Hierarchy, vertical/geographic assignments and Named Account mappings
  • Support tools/systems projects with respect to planning and commissions activities
  • Six sigma or process improvement models knowledge
