Senior Accountant – Cork, Ireland (15 month Maternity Leave cover)

INTRODUCTION

GENERAL SUMMARY

Become part of the Finance team at Pivotal as a Senior Accountant specializing in US GAAP reporting. You will be responsible for the monthly US GAAP accounting & related compliance reporting including quarterly financial results update. There will also be a strong focus on supporting key finance projects in collaboration with the wider finance team which includes Tax, FP&A, Internal Audit, IT and Functional Finance groups. This position will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will involve interactions with Senior Management in both Ireland and US. This role requires the ability to work under pressure and with urgency, while also demonstrating the ability to work independently and with several team members.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsibility for the month-end US GAAP Close process in compliance with the Corporate month-end calendar
  • Record monthly and quarterly journal entries to ensure the integrity of the General Ledger
  • Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations in adherence with Company policy
  • Ensure all SOX and internal controls are adhered
  • Support the US GAAP audit process
  • Assist in the preparation of management reporting including quarterly financial results update
  • Ensuring intercompany charges are processed accurately and are in line with intercompany agreements
  • Responsibility for maintaining relationship with external service providers
  • Interaction with wider Accounting team during the month and also with the Tax & Functional Finance groups
  • Provide support for on-going Corporate projects

GENERAL SKILLS/PROFICIENCES:

  • Knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles
  • Experience with Workday financials, or similar accounting ERP software is desirable
  • Ability to liaise with multiple organizations and departments (both internal & external)
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Analytical ability

REQUIRED EDUCATION & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance
  • Hold a recognized professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • 4-8 years accounting experience
  • Proficient with MS Office applications, in particular Microsoft Excel
