Role Overview

Secureworks is a leading cybersecurity organization that has just launched Red Cloak Threat Detection & Response, a new cybersecurity product that will enable IT professionals worldwide to monitor and secure their environments.  We’re hiring a Security Control Support Analyst that will assist our customers with configuration, management and troubleshooting of Secureworks and 3rd Party security technologies. This Security Control Support Analyst will work closely with their Security Analysis counterparts to ensure a strong closed-loop between the configuration and health of key security controls and the analysis of the outputs of these controls.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent understanding of computer network fundamentals including address resolution protocol, routing, network address translation, virtual private networks, and the OSI model 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and keen ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues. Well-spoken and articulate containing an attention to detail with excellent writing abilities
  • Strong understanding of security fundamentals and best practices
  • Strong level of networking expertise and understanding of networking fundamentals, and well known protocols/services including GRE,TCP/IP
  • Solid understanding of intrusion detection, firewall operations, and other general security practices
  • Solid understanding of advanced endpoint technologies that includes knowledge of telemetry collected by endpoint agents
  • Generally familiar with scripting/programming: Examples include Python, PHP and Perl
  • Ability to create, read and interpret network diagrams in service of supporting our Customers
  • Basic understanding of Windows and Unix or Linux operating systems including, but not limited to:
    • Navigating the directory structure
    • Managing processes
    • Obtaining system statistics such as CPU, memory, disk, network interface utilization from the command line
    • Identifying potential problems from system logs

Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing support on Secureworks-proprietary technologies and 3rd Party technologies related to the Threat Detection & Response platform; making device configuration changes and working with customers to troubleshoot issues
  • Responsible for answering inbound calls, chat requests, and emails from customers, creating tickets for all work performed, and addressing customer requests or issues
  • Work within a 24x7 shift-scheduled security operations environment, which does include the possibility of working weekends and/or nights
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for off-hours support as required
  • Learn prerelease products in the area(s) of support responsibility in order to support devices when released
  • Participate in knowledge sharing with other analysts and develop customer solutions efficiently
  • Perform other essential duties as assigned

Preferences

Undergraduate Degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or Information Technology and 2-4 years of relevant experience or a Graduate degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience
