We can’t wait for you to discover this for yourself as a Sr. Analyst, Material Planning (I6) (Software & Peripherals Demand Planning) on our Asia Operations Planning team in Dell APCC2, Bukit Mertajam, Penang, Malaysia.
When you’re working in the fast-moving world of technology, product availability is critical – which makes the availability of raw materials for production critical too. Our Material Planning team provides a controlled flow of materials to meet production requirements. We produce detailed schedules, adapting them if necessary to meet backlogs or material shortages, as well as material requirement lists and production plans that balance the demand and supply position of platforms and commodities to optimize product availability and cost. We’re experts at resolving problems with inventory, production schedules or material shortages and recommending procedures to avoid future problems.
Understand demand requirement for assigned software and peripherals at the aggregate level to support all fulfilment models (tied/non tied).
Maintain Continuity of Supply (COS) for assigned category to maintain standard lead time.
Works supply imbalances, both excesses and shortages, with the cross functional group to mitigate the risk as quickly and cost effectively as possible.
Recommend demand shaping opportunities, and work with regional demand planning team or PLM team to establish the demand shaping program.
Governs demand consumption rates and provide early warning and mitigation options to supply issue.
Manage LOB oriented transition to avoid transition gap out and E&O.
Manage good balance on demand and supply to avoid aging issue.
3-5 years of demand supply relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Strong knowledge in demand supply or supply chain management : order management, fulfilment concepts and process, forecast planning and methodology, Lead time and COS management.
Competencies : Excellent analytical skills, communication skills, problem solving and customer first.
Ability to work through ambiguity to complete assigned task, think globally and collaborate with others.
