About Business Unit:

You will get to be part of the Digital IT team looking to change the way we do business, with a focus on driving customer and business value and delivering products in a faster more efficient way. You will feel like you’re working in a “start up” with the stability and knowledge of the best technology company in the world. In the Digital Transformation Program you’ll work closely with other designers, product managers, developers, researchers, architects, and business stakeholders to change the way Dell delivers software to its internal users and customers. This transformation program has three primary goals:

  • Expand a Lean Startup, User Centered Design and Extreme Programming based Lab.
  • Enable new capabilities, and seamless user experiences across product, marketing, commerce and services.
  • Empower all Dell Technologies businesses to create experiences to meet their customer and business needs.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Be a Product Design shepherd at Dell by creating content that assists in enabling others
  • Consult as trusted advisor to stakeholders, including formal advice, executive customer presentations, and assessment as well as speaking engagements at industry conferences
  • Foster the health of the Product Designers and the practice in Dell Labs
  • Leverage Persona-based and Customer-centric enablement techniques that spread Product Design practices and learnings throughout the organization
  • Facilitate enablement sessions and workshops as needed for Product Designers and stakeholders
  • Stand up and manage a Community of Practice

Essential Requirements:

  • 8 - 10 Years building and delivering software & 5 years in a design leadership or consulting role
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Comfortable with complexity and ambiguity, with a passion for the challenges around organizing it
  • Full stacked design capabilities
  • Capable of delivering standard UX Design artifacts
  • Full understanding of the User Centered Design process
  • Comfortable with complexity and ambiguity, with a passion for the challenges around organizing it
  • An online portfolio demonstrating a strong design foundation with relevant examples of design concepts, deliverables, and process

Desired Skills:

  • User research experience in technical domains
  • Experience working in Agile and Lean practices
  • Experience creating Design Systems, frameworks, or other Design-at-scale initiatives
  • Dell Technologies experience highly preferred
