Software Quality Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Product Development, Architecture, IT, and Security organizations to qualify and release software for server, database, and desktop applications.
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality and serviceability of new features and releases of software.
  • Authors and executes test plans/test cases, using defined methodologies for manual and/or automated tests.
  • Design, develop, maintain and execute new and existing test automation
  • Responsible for updating methods and procedures to ensure continuous improvement to software quality assurance and serviceability standards. Isolates, reproduces and tracks bugs and verifies fixes.
  • Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action.
  • Maintains and modifies test environment and configuration as needed, creates new test environments and configurations to meet test cases or problem recreation requirements.
  • Documents test results and manages defect and test case databases to assist in the continuous improvement and modification of software.
  • Assists in the assessment and planning of test efforts required for new functions/features under development.
  • Works with development engineers in resolution of problems.
  • Maintain development standards, policies, and procedures
  • Contribute to architecture design and decisions.
  • Analyze requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates, and work with the cross-functional team to meet project milestones.
  • Develop new manufacturing software for New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Review design, test plan, code, and documentation
  • Fix defects in released software
  • Assist with SQL Database design, support, implementation, and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Experience in software QA/QE and test automation
  • Understanding of SSL, Certificates, SOAP and SOAP Security a big plus
  • Experience with software development lifecycle frameworks including Agile (Scrum), Waterfall, and test driven development.
  • Familiar with common design patterns.
  • Experience programming and debugging Java, or C#
  • Ability to work in both Java and .NET based environments
  • Experience with relational databases, ability to write and debug PL/SQL
  • Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) test environments (Jenkins) and automation
  • Good knowledge of automated testing, unit testing, and integration testing technologies like SoapUI, Selenium, Geb,  QTP, JUnit/TestNG
  • Experience with web services, like Tomcat
  • Familiar with security development lifecycle (SDL)
  • Experience with system performance/scalability.
  • Good knowledge of Windows, WPF, WCF, Dependency Injection, Unity, and web apps testing.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages Groovy, Perl, or Shell Scripting in open systems.
  • General knowledge and application of engineering concepts including agile development.
