We design world-class quality control processes, procedures and statistical techniques and specify mechanisms and equipment for inspection and testing. The Global Operations Quality team interacts cross-functionally end-to-end, from Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Test Engineering, Operations Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering, Logistics & Fulfillment, PG Quality, Sales, and Customer Service. The team utilizes Systems Engineering principles and tools to ensure containment and corrective actions are in place to protect the customer and elevate the performance of Dell’s manufacturing processes through the relentless application of continuous improvement methods. Focus areas include development, training, and use of industrial statistical quality tools (SPC, Problem Solving, Quality Improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, Design Thinking, Total Quality management, etc.), quality metrics goal setting and performance reporting, as well as developing and driving continuous improvement efforts and preventative actions.
- Leads tactical & strategic projects
- Broad application of principles, theories, and concepts to solve quality issues that help the customer and the business
- Provides resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems
- Uses judgment within defined policies and practices
- Contributes to the development of organization's goals and objectives
- Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts-
Bachelor of Science degree completed in one of the following disciplines: Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Aerospace
Ability to distill insights through strong written and oral communications skills
Initiative and ability to work in a self-directed environment
Facilitation skills, cross-functional awareness, fundamental understanding and ability to apply business and financial acumen to participate or drive cross-functional efforts
Program / Project Management of projects that will deliver improvements for the customer and the business
Ability to lead and influence extended teams and meet deadlines
Ability to present clear and concise information to team, internal customers, and external customers
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and the ability to effectively lead change management efforts
Demonstrated ability to work with and across teams to frame and analyze problems, generate and prioritize potential solutions, establish clear and effective action plans, drive closure of actions plans and implement solutions that are effective and lasting
Demonstrated fluency with Excel and PowerPoint
Ability / desire to learn and demonstrate mastery in Power BI, Structured programming languages (Python, C++, etc.)
Working knowledge of Quality Assurance, Management, and compliance tools
Understanding of industry trends and practices with regards to quality management
