Senior Director, Systems Engineering DPS

Our field sales professionals rely on proactive technical support during the sales process – and our expert Systems Engineering team always steps up to the mark. We lead the development and implementation of complex and specialized products, applications, services and solutions. From delivering sales presentations and product demonstrations, to developing detailed installations or system integration plans, we ensure customers get the innovative, relevant, interoperable solutions they need.

ROLE:

Drives the overall Presales strategy, organizational structure, go to-market, and solutions development for the Alliances and Presales teams alongside the global architects and offer

development teams.  Partners with sales management to develop and execute business, account and technical account plan.  Drives “sell-in” activities for our top focus partner accounts,

including offer development and service catalog creation; experience in developing and selling joint solutions for “sell-out” to end-user clients is critical

Job Description

Works alongside sales management to evaluate the overall health of the organization, identify opportunities for improvement, and execute initiatives in complete alignment with all selling teams.  Accountable for the Alliances Accounts and the overall execution of revenue objectives.

Partners with fellow Alliances pre-sales team members to coordinate activities between Integrator, Outsourcer, Service Provider and Telecommunications towers, offering and solution

development CoE and the EMC field-facing sell-out SE teams.  Works with entire Presales team to maintain a great employee experience while always working to improve Presales productivity,

work/life balance, and job satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead and manage top talent across Alliance technologists.  Continuously develop Presales System Engineering talent to meet current and future business needs, and to motivate, attract, and retain the best talent in the industry.  Advance and enable the technical capabilities of our partners.  Lead managers to challenge, motivate, develop, and enhance the overall employee experience.  Partner regularly with all stakeholders to balance Presales coverage across the greatest opportunities to take share.  Work closely with sales executives to align technical resources, support the divisions go-to-market, and drive bookings across the federation.  Actively, regularly and consistently engage with internal & external customers to advance Dell EMC’s market position.  Collaborate internally and externally with global Presales leaders, Business Units, divisional leaders, and executive management to meet the objectives of Dell EMC.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Strong datacenter technology background with 10+ years of industry experience. Experience with next generation applications, cloud platforms, or analytics a plus. 

8+ years of team management and people development. Deep experience building high performing teams to execute sales engineering, sales and individual goals.  Strong business, strategic, and executive acumen demonstrated across internal and external teams, customers, and partners.  Proven operational leadership and sales partnership.  Has led an organizational strategy with initiatives, objectives, measurements and outcomes

Proven track record as an IT leader with success managing in a matrix management structure.

Must have a proven ability to lead change with context into how to assess, influence, formulate, execute, revise, and over communicate.   Detailed product knowledge. Previous hands-on experience in the data center environment, with expertise spanning storage,BRS, virtualization, convergence, Cloud and/or Big Data. 

Customer focused.

Communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with senior management.

Ability to manage in a matrix environment.

Ability to influence others to achieve results.
