Director, Worldwide Business Development and Strategic Partnership

The Director, Worldwide Business Development and Strategic Partnership role is instrumental in driving Business Development and execution for the Worldwide Distribution Team. This role is global in nature and will span across all GEOs working in partnership with key members of the regional channel teams, GTM, BU’s and other functional teams. He/she will be expected to build global executable business plans with strong governance, return on investment and measures of success. Cross-group teamwork and the ability to guide matrixed organization will be required to deliver exceptional results. The applicant possesses a unique blend of business insight, sales experience, financial acumen, VMware Solutions knowledge, big-picture thinking, influencing skills and the ability to collaborate with a large number of constituents within VMware.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships using a cohesive approach with Ingram Micro across functional areas including sales, product/service development, marketing and business development to accelerate sales growth
  • Establish joint business plans and initiatives to reach forecasted interlock numbers by GEO and product while working with local in country channel teams at VMware on execution, and with the Global VMware Executive at Ingram Micro
  • Driving sales acceleration and global best practices to drive consistency in approach and execution by Ingram Mircro across the globe
  • Proven ability to recognize, analyze, and take action on go to market approaches, marketing programs, joint value propositions, and business cases around strategic partnerships
  • Experience with building key performance indexes (KPIs) and executive dashboards in order to measure and drive VMware priorities with the global distribution partner
  • Lead a collaborative approach with cross-functional teams to ensure projects and initiatives are aligned to growth and business targets by providing capabilities to optimize revenue growth

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of global experience in alliance and or distribution sales / management
  • Proven ability to recognize, analyze, and take action on go to market approaches, marketing programs, joint value propositions, and business cases around strategic partnerships
  • Experience with building key performance indexes (KPIs) and executive dashboards in order to measure and drive VMware priorities with the global distribution partner
  • Familiar with software field sales organizations and Global Distribution Partner models
  • Cross-functional influence, relationship building, and project management skills toward a broad constituency ranging from customers, channel partners, sales, marketing, and technical management

A strong balance of strategic and tactical skills, with intellectual agility and capacity for creative thought

Leading the process for development of long-term strategy as well as fiscal year goals, set direction and drive resource alignment

A self-starter capable of effectively leading and executing on multiple demanding projects in a dynamic environment

Strong ability to influence without direct control

Education

Bachelor’s Degree; MBA useful
