Role Overview

We are seeking an extraordinary, operational leader in Managed Security Services who will be passionate about leading a high performing team accountable for SecureWorks Global Security Operations Centers.  The VP of Security Operations will be a forward-thinking operator with a deep understanding of the technology transformation occurring in the Cyber Security landscape and how to leverage and benefit from this, in service to our clients. The successful candidate will be a master of change, with a desire to work with an entrepreneurial mindset.  This individual will examine the org structure, tools that are used, and the processes that are followed, making prioritized decisions and recommendations to transform the way we deliver services to the delight of our clients. This mission will take place through the lifecycle of on-boarding through steady-state. By leveraging his/ her knowledge of best practices across the industry, the VP of Security Operations will promote and support a culture of excellence, by motivating people, building a strong team committed to quality of service and connecting them to the organization’s strategy.

Role Responsibilities

  • Foster employee culture that supports excellence and customer experience across a geographically dispersed work force
  • Drive greater automation to increase productivity, scalability and ultimately drive improvements in customer satisfaction
  • Develop an agile operations team that can quickly adapt to the rapidly changing cyber-threat landscape
  • Prepare and implement strategic and operational plans and actions to ensure that facilities systems, procedures, staffing, support services and capacity are available when needed and at required levels
  • Ownership of all SOC processes; maintaining, improving and educating, with an aim towards achieving ultimate efficiency and effectiveness in security operations
  • Maintain, support and develop a group of leaders capable of interacting with clients and staff in a highly credible and professional manner and who instill confidence and credibility
  • Foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement within operations
  • Foster a culture of innovation, in an environment that requires high levels of scalability, predictability and reliability
  • Foster a culture of adaptability, accepting the dynamic cyber-threat landscape, that demands immediate response during incidents, instilling confidence in our clients
  • Operate as a trusted advisor at the executive level for accounts and assist with executive briefings
  • Capable of using business intelligence in making prudent investment decisions with an eye toward our balance sheet and impact to SecureWorks profitability; effective management of P&L
  • Coordinate and collaborate between the client, sales, Future Operations Teams, & R&D
  • Supports Sales in achieving Bookings, Revenue, Profit, and other operational targets of the business
  • Develops goals, action plans, and timely measurements to ensure  NetPromoter scores are maintained
  • Consistently look to challenge the norm of Operations, and improving day-to-day client service techniques to adapt to the changes in client expectations and overall market

  • A degree in Computer Science or relevant field, MBA preferred
  • 15+ years of related service delivery and client management experience including 10+ years people management experience
  • Knowledge of Cyber-security Laws, Personal Data Protection Act, industry standards and information security policy frameworks
  • Relevant professional certification such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC
  • Ideal candidates for this role will have functioned as a CISO or VP of Security Services
  • Excellent presenter skills and the capacity to influence and help security executives through the maturation of their organization’s security maturity
  • Strength in hiring, recruiting, managing, developing, coaching, and retaining individuals and teams, empowering them to elevate their levels of responsibility, span-of-control and performance
  • Must be a change agent and be decisive in their role to streamline high quality service delivery
  • Track record of delivering 100% uptime and meeting demanding SLAs
  •  Exceptional leadership and team building skills with a track record of recruiting top talent, developing top talent and managing top talent to work cooperatively and effectively together
  • Ability to travel world-wide 40% percent of the time
  • Ability to quickly respond to client senior-level escalations which could include travel on-site to their location representing Secureworks at an executive level
  • Physically residing in Atlanta Headquarters as the primary location of employment with the option to work remotely as needed
