Role Description

We are looking for a seasoned and passionate AWS Engineer to join our Public Cloud Engineering team at Secureworks. Our operations in the AWS cloud are already at scale and growing exponentially. We would love your help in migrating legacy datacenter services into the AWS cloud in a cloud-native way. The successful candidate for this position:

  • Designs, plans, and integrates cloud computing and virtualization systems using infrastructure as code and modern cloud-native deployment techniques such as DevOps and/or DevSecOps, including CI/CD pipelines
  • Provides architectural stewardship of our AWS estate in collaboration with other SCWX cloud leaders, continually designing to best practice as it evolves
  • Collaborates with a team whose guiding principles are enablement, automation, cloud-native, cost-optimized, and stable
  • Collaborates with other teams to ensure enterprise-wide initiatives are managed in AWS
  • Evangelizes, promotes, and educates the entire business on AWS
  • Mentors junior team members and ensure they continue to grow in AWS expertise

Role Requirements

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification
  • Hands-on Amazon Web Services experience, with great knowledge of: Compute, Storage & Content Delivery, Networking, Management Tools, Security & Identity
  • Strong scripting experience in Python and Terraform
  • Familiarity with Vagrant and Packer
  • Continuous Integration experience, including building immutable servers
  • Great working knowledge of the Linux shell
  • Experience managing entire application or web stacks
  • Willing to be on call, work flexible hours and support night or weekend work as needed
  • Experience generating documentation for peers and IT staff
  • Experience presenting technical information to a wide spectrum of audiences, from C-suite to sales


  • Container experience such as Docker
  • Knowledge of other cloud providers such as Azure or Google Compute Engine
  • Experience generating documentation for peers and IT staff
  • Experience presenting technical information to a wide spectrum of audiences, from C-suite to sales
  • Knowledge of chef or other automation engine


  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Information Technology Engineering, or equivalent work experience
